Scottsmoor Landing Boat Ramp Re-Opening Friday After Construction of New Dock

BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA – The Scottsmoor Landing Boat Ramp, located at 2400 Huntington Avenue in Mims, will re-open on Friday, June 7.

The boat ramp and dock were closed on Tuesday, April 18, for canal dredging and construction of a new dock.

Located in the northernmost part of the county, this 3.05-acre community river park accesses the Indian River Lagoon.

Facilities include picnic tables, benches, a garden, a boat ramp, dock, and parking for cars and boat trailers.

DIRECTIONS: Take U.S. Hwy. 1 at Garden Street (SR-406), go 11.3 miles north on U.S. Hwy 1, turn right on Huntington Avenue and go 1.9 miles. This is the northernmost boat ramp on the Main body of the Indian River Lagoon.

This part of the lagoon offers some of the best chances to hook into reds or trout in our area.

Most of your better fishing will be found on the grass flats along the eastern shoreline and northern basin where Turnbul Creek enters the lagoon.
