SPACE COAST DAILY TV: The Friday Night Locker Room’s Orville Susong talks with Emma Jewel Charter Academy Principal and co-founder Thomas Cole about the Academy, how it was founded, their “Warrior” summer program and much more. Susong also talks with some of the teachers and students at the Academy.
BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – The Friday Night Locker Room’s Orville Susong talked recently with Emma Jewel Charter Academy Principal and co-founder Thomas Cole about the Academy, how it was founded, their “Warrior” summer program, and much more.
Susong also talked with some of the teachers and students at the Academy.
“Ther mission of the Emma Jewel Charter Academy is to instill within each child a passion for learning, a strong desire to nurture their family members, friends and their community,” said Cole.
“We will empower each individual scholar to be lifelong learners, problem solvers and have a positive impact in their community.”
Cole is a lifetime resident of Cocoa and has over 16 years of experience in education. Over his educational career, Cole has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal and educational consultant.
He holds an undergraduate degree from Florida A&M University as well as two graduate degrees in Education from the University of Central Florida. He is a servant leader with a passion for serving students, parents and communities.
“We believe that all children can demonstrate academic excellence when they are placed in a nurturing educational environment where they are valued for their uniqueness,” said Cole.
“We provide a safe, secure and challenging learning environment, through the responsible use of all resources, to afford opportunities for all scholars to realize their individual potential and to become responsible and productive members of society.”
Cole believes that parents are the primary and most important educators in the lives of their children, and strives to establish a partnership with parents and work collaboratively to ensure that all students receive a high-quality education.
