Brevard Fire Rescue Crews Save Osprey Hanging Upside Down from Nest in Viera

Brevard County Fire Rescue Tower 48 was extended to reach the 25-foot-high nest

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue Engine 47 and Tower 48 assisted Brevard County Animal Services with an osprey that became entangled in a nest and was hanging upside down.

The first responders were called about noon on Saturday to the 7600 block of N.Wickham Road in Viera.

Upon arrival, Brevard County Fire Rescue Tower 48 was extended to reach the nest and the osprey was extricated.

The bird was released to animal services but the condition of the osprey was not available.
