BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – A Dr. Seuss book reading for 100 kids from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida will be held Monday, July 15 aboard the Carnival Liberty at Port Canaveral as part of Dr. Seuss Summer Word Challenge to promote literacy.
The Carnival Liberty is located at Terminal 1 at Port Canaveral, 9241 Charles Rowland Drive.
Check-in for the event starts at 10:30 am and boarding will begin at 11 a.m.
Kids will enjoy Carnival’s Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast with The Cat in The Hat and Friends, as well as Dr. Seuss character appearances, part of the line’s fleetwide Seuss at Sea program, operated exclusively with Dr. Seuss Enterprises and celebrates the beloved children’s author through fun, family-oriented entertainment, youth activities and unique dining experiences.
Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Random House Children’s Books launched the Dr. Seuss’s Word Challenge on May 21.
As the Official Seagoing Partner of Dr. Seuss’s Word Challenge, young cruisers sailing on Carnival ships during the summer were also encouraged to read as many Dr. Seuss words as possible during book reading sessions on board.
Kids could then log their words and monitor their progress using a word tracker on Seussville.com.
Carnival Liberty is one of three Carnival Cruise Line ships based year-round in Port Canaveral carrying more than 600,000 passengers annually.
