BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – National Hurricane Center (NHC) is closely monitoring a disturbance that has developed in the eastern Caribbean on Sunday that is expected move over north-central Caribbean Sea over the next few days.

The system is expected to produce heavy rainfall and possible flooding for Puerto Rico and Hispaniola.

Even though experts forecast little development over the next few days due to the interaction with land, the system is projected to emerge over the Straits of Florida by the end of the week where environmental conditions could be a little more favorable for development, according to the National Hurricane Center.
