Florida Tech to Bestow 625 Degrees During Summer Commencement July 27

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Hundreds of graduate and undergraduate students from across the country and around the world will participate in Florida Institute of Technology’s summer commencement starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27.

There will be an anticipated 319 students crossing the stage at the Charles and Ruth Clemente Center on the Florida Tech campus, comprised of 232 graduate students and 87 undergraduates.

The students graduating Saturday represent 35 U.S. states and 42 countries.

Overall, the university will bestow 625 degrees, including 252 degrees earned online and 92 from Florida Tech’s off-site locations.

Florida Tech President Dwayne McCay will offer remarks at the ceremony. He will also present Sir Robert Marx, the renowned underwater explorer and researcher, a posthumous honorary degree.

Marx, who passed away July 4, had been a guest lecturer at Florida Tech for 50 years, and some of his artifacts are on display at the university’s Link Building.
