SPACE COAST DAILY TV: The Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson caught up with Rockledge grad and two-time all-state high school quarterback Andrew “Drew” Johnson in Buford, Georgia, where he now trains players in the National Football League.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Andrew “Drew” Johnson graduated from Rockledge High School in 1999 where he was a two-time all-state high school quarterback.
Johnson excelled at football, basketball, baseball and soccer, and now trains NFL players for a living in Buford, Georgia, where The Friday Night Locker Room’s Steve Wilson caught up with him on the job.
After graduating high school, Johnson left for The Citadel where he continued playing football.
Although he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Programming from Florida State University, his love of sports put him on his current track.
Johnson is a coach at Elite Sports Academy in Georgia where he is known as “Coach Drew,” and works with individuals and groups from age 5 to current NFL players.
“Working with these athletes is a passion that I didn’t know I was going to have,” said Johnson. “I think of my athletes as my sons.”
Johnson is a humble man that has made his friends, his hometown, and his family very proud. He is doing exactly what he wants to do, and he does it extremely well.
