Titusville Police Investigating Crash Involving Pedestrian Attempting to Cross South Park Avenue

POLICE: adult male pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash

The Titusville Police Department is investigating a traffic crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. On Friday at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a traffic crash with injuries at the 400 block of South Park Avenue just north of Pine Street.

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Titusville Police Department is investigating a traffic crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

On Friday at approximately 9:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a traffic crash with injuries at the 400 block of South Park Avenue just north of Pine Street.

“Initial reports indicate that a 2011 Nissan Frontier was traveling southbound on South Park Avenue and struck a pedestrian attempting to cross the roadway, said Titusville Police Department spokesperson Amy Matthews.

“The preliminary investigation suggests the adult male pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash. The pedestrian was transported to a local trauma hospital to be treated for injuries sustained.”

Matthews said that due to the injuries and as a precaution, Titusville Police Department Traffic Homicide Investigators are working the active scene and further details will be released upon its conclusion.
