Brevard Public Schools Remain Open Friday; After-School Activities Scheduled Normally Until Saturday

all BPS school activities canceled for Saturday, Sunday and Monday

Brevard Public Schools will be open and operate normally Friday, including after-school activities, sports and child care. However, all BPS school activities are canceled for Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Public Schools will be open and operate normally Friday, including after-school activities, sports and child care. However, all BPS school activities are canceled for Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

“We will announce as soon as possible whether schools will be closed following the Labor Day weekend,” said Matt Reed, assistant superintendent with BPS.

BPS continues to monitor Hurricane Dorian in coordination with Brevard County Emergency Operations.

Because of changes in the storm’s projected path and speed, Emergency Operations has not yet determined whether any schools will be needed as shelters.

BPS will update staff and families daily by email, text message, the BPS Facebook page and BPS app alerts.
