BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – National Hurricane Center is continuing to monitor a disturbance in the Atlantic located over the central tropical Atlantic Ocean several hundred miles southeast of the Lesser Antilles.

Experts have downgraded the probability of the disturbance becoming a tropical depression to 40-percent in five days.

Currently, the system is moving to the west-northwest at 10-15 mph.

Some slow development of this system is still possible, and a tropical depression could form well east of the Leeward Islands by early next week, according to the National Hurricane Center.
