Officials closed Strawbridge from Pine St. to Waverly Plaza in both directions on Wednesday after a gas line break near downtown Melbourne on Hickory St. – just North of Strawbridge Ave.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Officials closed Strawbridge from Pine St. to Waverly Plaza in both directions on Wednesday after a gas line break near downtown Melbourne on Hickory St. – just North of Strawbridge Ave.

UPDATE: Both eastbound lanes of Strawbridge are now open, while one westbound lane of Strawbridge has since been reopened.

Some buildings in the immediate area near the gas line break had to be evacuated.
