Melbourne Man Killed in Motorcycle vs. Vehicle Crash Saturday On State Road A1A in Cocoa Beach

Gillebaard was traveling southbound on N. Atlantic Avenue operating a 2018 Suzuki motorcycle

Bernard Gillebaard, 49, of Melbourne, was killed in a motorcycle vs. vehicle crash Saturday about 11:51 a.m. in the 3300 block of N. Atlantic Avenue in Cocoa Beach.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Bernard Gillebaard, 49, of Melbourne, was killed in a motorcycle vs. vehicle crash Saturday about 11:51 a.m. in the 3300 block of N. Atlantic Avenue in Cocoa Beach.

According to Cocoa Beach Police Sgt. Manny Hernandez, Gillebaard was traveling southbound on N. Atlantic Avenue (State Road A1A), operating a 2018 Suzuki motorcycle.

Gillebaard’s motorcycle crashed into the passenger side of a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Judith Orr, 70, of Connecticut, as she made a left turn from the northbound lanes toward the First United Methodist Church.

“Gillebaard was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” said Sgt. Hernandez.

Sgt. Hernandez said Orr was also transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
