BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Brevard Zoo’s Indian River Lagoon restoration efforts are getting a financial boost thanks to Right Coast Independent Optics, a premium sunglass brand based in Cocoa Beach.

Earlier this month, the Zoo’s Restore Our Shores program was the beneficiary of an $11,500 donation—marking the second year in a row the Zoo has received such a gift.

This donation consisted of proceeds from raffle tickets sold at RCI’s annual Inshore Invitational fishing tournament on August 3.

The event was sponsored by Boaters Exchange, Cayo Boatworks, Gator’s Dockside, LIVE Watersports, RCI Optics, SeaDek Marine Products, Skinny Water Culture and Yamaha Outboards.

The winner of the raffle received a boat.

“Our partnership with RCI Optics has allowed our local conservation efforts to flourish,” said Jody Palmer, the Zoo’s director of conservation.

“We have a tremendous amount of gratitude for RCI Optics for yet again aiding our efforts to improve the lagoon.”
