Ceremony at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery Will Feature Live-Read of All Veterans Interred

'No Veteran Should Ever Be Forgotten'

The 4th Annual POW/MIA-OREE (Prisoner of War, Missing in Action, Outdoor Remembrance Educational Event), will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Saturday, September 21 at 9 a.m. This event will be hosted by its Founder Joshua Katz, Eagle Scout, above.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA –  The 4th Annual POW/MIA-OREE (Prisoner of War, Missing in Action, Outdoor Remembrance Educational Event), will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on Saturday, September 21 at 9 a.m.

POW-MIA-OREE is an event that features a live-read of all those interred at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.

Following the reading of names, a custom challenge coin will be placed on every headstone and niche marker.

Each coin signifies that “No Veteran Should Ever Be Forgotten.”

This program supports the National POW/MIA Remembrance Day which is observed on the third Friday each September.

This event will be hosted by its Founder Joshua Katz, Eagle Scout. The ceremony will be conducted by Latz and Scout Troop 337 and supported by Boy Scouts from all over Florida.

The event is open to the public and pages of the 6,700 names of those interred will be made available to any guest that wants to volunteer to assist with reading the names.

Guests should arrive no later than 8:30 and staff will be on-site to assist with parking.
