Florida Tech Men’s Cross Country Team Finishes 4th at Panther Invitational

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Florida Tech Crimson and Gray opened their season at the Panther Invitational where they finished fourth on Saturday morning.
The race was highlighted by senior Malte Stockhausen who placed 1st at the 8K event.
Stockhausen finished the 8K race with a time of 26:48.65 almost two seconds ahead of the competition. Senior Joseph Berg was the next Panther to cross the finished line. Berg ended with a time of 27:48.20 and for an 11th place finish, respectively.
Five freshmen made their collegiate debuts, led by William Hibbard, Avery Cook, Sailor Starcher, Reese Van Putten and Zachary Miller. Hibbard finished in the top 20, while Cook and Stracher placed 30th and 31st.
Christopher Daniele and Lucas Harbour had a back-to-back finish placing 28th and 29th.
The Crimson and Gray will prepare for the next race at Mountain Dew Invitational on Sept. 14.
