BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech men’s lacrosse head coach Mark Penn has announced the addition of former Panther Zach Wynne, class of 2016, to the coaching staff.

Wynne joins the staff as assistant coach and offensive coordinator.

He is charged with running the Panthers’ offense, with a focus on mentoring the attack unit. He will also assist in all areas of the program including recruiting and fundraising.

“I am thrilled to have Zach returning to Florida Tech,” said Penn.

“He was very impactful as a player here and I expect him to have an even greater impact as a coach.

“Zach has tremendous knowledge of the game and an ability to translate that to the players. He is going to be a great coach and I’m glad that he chose to start off here with us. Zach has a keen offensive mind and I am looking forward to seeing him put his stamp on this group.”

The Sykesville, Maryland native played one season for Florida Tech in 2014-15.

That year he was named to the All-Sunshine State Conference Second Team after starting all 16 games and leading the Panthers with 54 points on 27 goals and 27 assists, while also collecting 35 ground balls.

He finished tied for second in the SSC in assist during the 2015 season.

Wynne’s 54 points are still a single-season record for Tech. He also set a pair of single-game records for points (8) and assists (5) in separate games that year.

However, both were broken this past season when Logan Sweeney put up 10 points and six assists in Tech’s 24-6 victory over Nichols College.

Wynne graduated from Florida Tech in 2016 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Communications.
