Sunny, Hot Weather Returns to Space Coast in Wake of Hurricane Dorian, Temperatures Forecast to be Near 97

SPACE COAST DAILY TV WEATHER REPORT: Space Coast Daily’s Chris Bonanno discusses Hurricane Dorian’s impacts on the Carolinas, the rest of the tropics and hot, dry weather for Brevard this afternoon. 

BREVARD COUNTY • NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – As Hurricane Dorian dissipates on the Space Coast, you can expect sunny and hot weather to return to Brevard.

Hot westerly flow on Thursday afternoon will allow highs to reach near 97 with a heat index value as high as 106. There will dill be windy conditions, with a west southwest wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Stay hydrated today and take breaks indoors from the heat.

Along the beaches, there will be a high risk of rip currents. Offshore seas to over 10 feet will pose a significant marine hazard for any small vessels venturing across the offshore open Atlantic waters into Thursday onight.

On Thursday night, skies will be mostly clear, with a low around 77 with west southwest winds at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 93. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
