ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The UCF football team defeated Stanford by a decisive 45-27 margin on Saturday to improve to 3-0 on the 2019 season. On Sunday, the Knights jumped from 17th to 15th in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
UCF gained 159 points in the AP Poll, jumping ahead of 16th-ranked Oregon and 17th-ranked Texas A&M with 703 total points in the poll.
The Knights stayed at 16th in the Amway Coaches Poll, totaling 697 points after having 584 points last week.
UCF is the only team in the American Athletic Conference ranked in either poll and one of two teams from the state of Florida ranked in the polls, as Florida came in at ninth and eighth in the AP Poll and Coaches Poll, respectively.
With the win over Stanford, the Knights improved to 34-2 all-time when ranked in the Top 25. UCF looks to continue improving that impressive record next weekend, playing at Pittsburgh on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.
UCF has been ranked in 31 straight Top 25 poll releases, dating back to week six of the 2017 season, and it marks the 42nd time in history the Knights have been in the Top 25.
