BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Coming off its first loss of the season, and three consecutive road games to start the 2019 campaign, Florida Tech will host the West Georgia Wolves Saturday under the lights at Panther Stadium.

Florida Tech was only a few plays away from picking up a third straight road win and knock off Delta State on its home field in last week’s Gulf South Conference opener.

The Panthers will now face a Wolves squad that is was upset at home and fell from the national rankings this week after sitting at No. 15 a week ago.

Saturday’s game is the seventh all-time meeting between Florida Tech and West Georgia.

UWG owns a 4-2 advantage in the series and the two teams have split the only two meetings at Panther Stadium.

The Wolves won last year’s meeting, 30-21, on their home field as well as the previous contest at Panther Stadium, 20-13, in 2017.

Florida Tech won two in a row in the series, including 45-21 win in 2016 and a 28-26 victory over No. 1 West Georgia in 2015 at Panther Stadium.

The Panthers will look to start a new streak and #BLACKOUT the Wolves as they play in front of their home fans for the first time this season.

After a brilliant debut almost leading Florida Tech to a win in its first career start, Mike Diliello has been named the Gulf South Conference’s Freshman of the Week for Sept. 23. Diliello completed 17-of-29 passing for 309 yards and two touchdowns, his first career passing touchdowns. (Florida Tech image)
