SPACE COAST DAILY WEATHER UPDATE: Space Coast Daily’s Chris Bonanno discusses Brevard’s weather for Tuesday and the tropics. With Hurricane Humberto reaching Category 2 strength on Tuesday morning its effects will be felt on the Space Coast in the form of incoming large swells, creating rough surf and hazardous boating conditions, especially near the inlets.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – With Hurricane Humberto reaching Category 2 strength on Tuesday morning its effects will be felt on the Space Coast in the form of incoming large swells, creating rough surf and hazardous boating conditions, especially near the inlets.

As of 11 a.m. EDT Tuesday, Humberto was located about 525 miles west-southwest of Bermuda and moving east-northeast at 8 mph with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph.

The storm is expected to continue to strengthen into Wednesday as it stirs rough surf along the East coast of the United States. A tropical storm warning and a hurricane watch have been issued for Bermuda.

Brevard County’s weather for Tuesday calls for sunny conditions, with a high near 93. North wind will be around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
On Tuesday night, conditions will be mostly clear, with a low around 75. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph.
