BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Storm shutters can protect your home and family from the effects of storm events. But did you know that the same devices can protect your family from storms, can also potentially kill you during a fire?

Storm shutters can impede your egress should you need to make a rapid escape from your burning home.

They can also impede firefighters from gaining access to your bedroom to rescue you.

Leaving storm shutters up for too long (or all season) can also be a violation of city or county code.

Please check with your local authorities or search Municode to see how each jurisdiction addresses storm protection.
