BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Recently, the BCSO Family said goodbye to K-9 “Koi” who served their agency and citizens from 2008 to 2016 as a member of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit.

K-9 “Koi” was a legend and amazing partner to Sgt. Jerry Shealy and Deputy Scott Stewart.

Throughout his career “Koi” helped put a lot of really bad people in jail and kept constant watch over his handlers whom he loved dearly.

He made sure they went home safe each and every day and also made sure that our citizens were well protected while he was on watch.

K-9 “Koi” retired from active duty in 2016 and lived with Deputy Stewart and his family until yesterday when he passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and showered in love and admiration.

“Koi” will be deeply missed by all who knew and worked with him and we ask that you keep Sgt. Shealy and the Stewart’s in your thoughts and prayers as they lost their longtime partner and friend.
