BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey was humbled to accept an amazing donation from the Georgianna United Methodist Church in Merritt Island, in the amount of $16,500 to help BCSO purchase two new Patrol K-9’s that will help protect the streets of Brevard County.

Con Bennett, Chairman of the Elder Board, at Georgianna United Methodist, Pastor Corky Calhoun and the other members of the board presented BCSO with the check as part of this amazing gesture of support for our agency and the mission we serve of keeping our citizens safe.

As you are aware, Patrol K-9’s are one of the most effective tools we have in law enforcement as they are valuable partners who assist our Deputies during traffic stops, vehicle searches, building searches, Community Relations and of course the apprehension of fleeing suspects.

Ivey would personally like to thank Senior Pastor Corky Calhoun, the Elder Board and all the pet-loving members of the Georgianna Church for their amazing support of our Agency.

This is a perfect example of our citizens and agency working together to protect our community and keep our citizens safe.

– Sheriff Wayne Ivey
