BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Bruce Buggs along with his wife, Alisha, and their two daughters, Alia, and Brucia, Bruce has built the foundation and legacy of Buggs Funeral Home with the belief that, although grieving, bereaved families should know that the technical aspects of planning funeral arrangements for their loved one don’t have to be a burdensome task.
Buggs never hesitates for those in need, whether it is assisting someone with a startup business or helping the homeless.
He is a true philanthropist as he has donated time, materials, funds and labor to the renovations and upkeep of several places within the community, including Full Gospel Deliverance Church, In Season Ministries, South Brevard Ministerial Alliance, Cocoa Hill Cemetery, as well as several other historical cemeteries.
He has a heart for assisting, both monetarily and volunteering his time and equipment and because of his giving spirit and has been honored in many capacities for these efforts.

Buggs serves as the President-Elect of the Independent Funeral Directors of Florida and was a past Vice President and Treasurer.
He is also an active member of the Florida Morticians Association and the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association.
In 2018, he was named Funeral Director of the Year by Kates-Boylston Publications and was featured on the cover of their magazine. In May 2019, he received the W. Clyde Lankford Distinguished Service Award from the Independent Funeral Directors of Florida.
Buggs has helped families purchase clothing for their loved ones who couldn’t afford it. He has even taken the time to research and refer families to attorneys who could help them with needs that extended beyond those of the funeral service.
He has truly made a positive name for himself – not only by giving back to the community but through the caring and compassionate service he provides to each family.
He has extended himself beyond expectations when it comes to ensuring that each family’s personalized needs are met.

Recognizing Outstanding Individuals & Organizations Who Dedicate Their Time, Talent and Treasure
The 2019 Central Florida Humanitarians have been announced and include outstanding individuals and organizations from the medical, business, education and governmental communities.
The Central Florida Humanitarian honorees will be recognized during a Gala event on Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place in Melbourne, Florida.
The Central Florida Humanitarian Awards were created in 2009 by Space Coast Daily to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations that dedicate their time, talent or treasure to help people in need locally – and around the world.
TIME: In this category consider candidates who have selflessly and consistently devoted their time as volunteers at hospitals and nursing homes, in activities for the less fortunate and as organizers, administrators or operatives in the many other altruistic endeavors in our community.

TREASURE: The humanitarians in this category will include those who have generously shared their monetary good fortune and/or volunteered their time and efforts in fundraising for the advancement of a philanthropic cause.
All 2019 honorees will be featured in the Oct/Nov 2019 edition of Space Coast Daily magazine and on SpaceCoastDaily.com. The magazine will be available in both print and digital editions, which will also be available on SpaceCoastDaily.com soon.
