CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS – Florida Tech women’s rowing continued its dominance over the collegiate ranks as the team took gold in the Head of the Charles Women’s Collegiate Four.

The shell of Natalia Arasa Bonavila (stroke), Liza Lutter, Svetlana Ristin, Theresa Gadilhe (bow) and Nashaita Patrawalla (coxswain) made it look easy. The group already had a commanding five second lead after the first split.

They saw that gap grow to about 17 seconds at the 1000 meter mark and continued to expand to 28 seconds over the next 500.

The trend continued over the final stretch as the Panthers crossed the line in 17:50.817 while the silver medalist, Division I University of New Hampshire, finished about 35 seconds later with a time of 18:25.737.

The Crimson and Gray will be back in about three weeks’ time when the women head to Augusta, Georgia, for the Head of the South. This regatta is set to begin Saturday, Nov. 9.
