Merritt Island Woman Found Dead On Sunday Identified By Brevard County Sheriff’s Office

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has identified the identified the woman who was found dead near the water at mile marker 50 of the Beachline on Sunday.
The woman has been identified as 34-year-old Ashley Marrotta from Merritt Island.
Deputies say the investigation began shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 27) when the Sheriff’s Office was notified by citizens launching their boat of a possible dead person.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they confirmed the death of Marrotta.
The investigation is ongoing about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Investigators are seeking information from anyone who may have seen or had contact with Marrotta since Friday (Oct. 25).
Marrotta was 5-foot-tall, weighed around 107 pounds and had brown hair and hazel eyes.
She was found wearing a black tank top and light colored jean shorts.
