Variable message boards at the intersection of North Courtenay Parkway and Merritt Avenue on Merritt Island are now in place to alert motorists of a temporary closing beginning Friday, Oct. 25, due to a collapsed sewer pipe.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Variable message boards at the intersection of North Courtenay Parkway and Merritt Avenue on Merritt Island are now in place to alert motorists of a temporary closing beginning Friday, Oct. 25, due to a collapsed sewer pipe.

An estimated $150,000 repair project at the site is expected to take three days to complete, weather permitting.

While repairs are under way, motorists will need to use alternate routes while Brevard County Utility Services works to replace 60 feet of a corroded and collapsed 12-inch iron sewer pipe.

Contractor Atlantic Development will work 24-hour days in an effort to expedite the repair.
