Scott T. Mikuen Joins Health First Board of Trustees

Local business leader Scott T. Mikuen has joined the Health First Board of Trustees, effective Tuesday, October 1, 2019. In this new role, Mikuen will help the community health system in its efforts to improve the wellness and health of Brevard.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Local business leader Scott T. Mikuen has joined the Health First Board of Trustees.

Mikuen, who officially joined the board October 1, is the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for L3Harris Technologies.

In this new role, Mikuen will help the community health system in its efforts to improve the wellness and health of Brevard.

At L3Harris, Mikuen oversees legal, contracts, compliance and risk management for all of the global aerospace and defense technology company’s business operations and functional areas.

He also provides counsel on corporate governance matters and works closely with the L3Harris Board of Directors.

In 1996, Mikuen joined Harris Corporation, which merged with L3 Technologies Inc. in June 2019 and is now L3 Harris Technologies.

Since coming on board, he has served in various roles, including as finance counsel, vice president, associate general counsel and secretary.

These positions entrusted him with the oversight of various legal functions, as well as being responsible for corporate governance, in addition to commercial and SEC compliance.

Before moving to Brevard, Mikuen served as a partner in a law firm on Long Island, New York. He is licensed to practice law in New York and Florida, serving in each state’s Bar Association.

He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Society of Governance Professionals and the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Mikuen earned a Juris Doctor from the Harvard Law School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York.

He is no stranger to giving back to the community – Mikuen is also a board member of the Orlando Melbourne International Airport Authority and the Florida Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as a director of Club Esteem, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving youth in economically disadvantaged communities.
