BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Rockledge Raiders and Merritt Island Mustangs will square off in a key Class 5A District 9 matchup Friday night at the O-Dome in Merritt Island.
The game will be broadcasted on Space Coast Daily TV with Zach Clark and Jordan Rocco on the call. Pregame coverage starts at 6:45 p.m.
Coming off a disappointing 42-7 loss to St. Ignatius (Ohio) last week, the Raiders return to Brevard County in Week 8 as Rockledge (5-1) looks to clinch the district against Merritt Island on Friday.
With a win, the worse Rockledge could finish with is tied for first place in District 9, but would own the tiebreaker over Atlantic if both teams win out.
Merritt Island (3-2) started the season as one of the surprise teams in Brevard County by winning their first-three games. However, ever since their trip to Vero Beach (Sept. 20) the offense has hit a funk by only scoring one touchdown in their last two games after losses to Vero Beach (35-12) and Miami Christian (20-10).
The Mustangs had last week off and could keep their district title hopes alive with a win.
