BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – What moves you? Space Coast Area Transit, Space Coast TPO, and FDOT are set to celebrate the third annual Mobility Week from October 25 to November 2.
In celebration of a week designed to promote travel alternatives and encourage pedestrian and bicycle safety, Space Coast Area Transit passengers can free-ride on October 31, known as “Try Transit Thursday,” by showing the 321Transit app on any mobile device.
A special Mobility Week sold-out edition of “Ride with Jim,” an event that provides the general public and transit advocates an opportunity to share coffee and conversation with those who help shape Brevard County’s Transit System, will feature Scott Lagasse Jr., a celebrity NASCAR driver.
Lagasse, Jr. is a spokesperson for the Florida Department of Transportation’s “Alert Today Alive Tomorrow” campaign, which raises awareness about pedestrian and bicyclist safety. He returned to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2019, driving the No. 4 Chevrolet for JD Motorsports at Daytona.
According to Scott Nelson, Director of Space Coast Area Transit, “We encourage everyone to participate in Mobility Week and learn more about safe multimodal transportation choices.”
