BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech will hold its 5th annual Day of Giving starting at 12 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, giving Panthers from around the world the chance to support their university.

The theme this year is superheroes, with Florida Tech mascot Pete the Panther undergoing an amazing, powerful metamorphosis.

The Day of Giving website HERE is counting down to the midnight kick-off and, on Nov. 19, will keep a tally with a live leaderboard showing real-time dollars and donors for each participating college, team and unit, as well as overall totals.

The Florida Tech Alumni Association Facebook page will also be active with donor challenges, updates and live videos from celebrations on campus.

The goal for Day of Giving is at least 1,500 donors.

The importance of participation goes beyond any particular amount of money raised.

No matter the size of individual donations, the level of alumni participation overall is a key factor in how organizations, including the influential ranking publication U.S. News and World Report, perceive the success of a university and how they ultimately rank it.

In addition to the colleges, the university’s athletic teams, the Alumni Center, botanical garden, Catholic Campus Ministry, Continuing Education, museums, Student Life, Evans Library, The Scott Center for Autism Treatment, weVENTURE and WFIT-FM 89.5 are participating.
