BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Congratulations are in order for a few of Melbourne Police Department’s outstanding volunteers.

VCOP’s Bob Perry, Jen Senigen, Brenda Carlson and Chaplain Gabriel Urdaneta all received Letters of Commendation from Deputy Chief Waltemeyer for their exemplary performance.

Since 1981, the Police Department has relied on volunteers to help with many tasks.

Effective crime prevention requires the support of community participation.

Volunteers are non-paid, at least 18 years of age, and undergo an extensive background investigation prior to approval.

There are several areas within the Department where volunteers assist.
