BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 20-year-old Kalab Bradford of Cocoa in the shooting death of 34-year-old Mark Hurst.

Deputies say Bradford was arrested after an arrest warrant was issued by a judge charging him with 2nd Degree Murder.

The investigation began shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday when deputies responded to the 300 block of MacArthur Circle, located in unincorporated Cocoa, about a report that a person had been shot.

Investigators discovered that the victim and suspect were neighbors who had an argument over the suspect’s dog running loose in the neighborhood.

The argument then escalated into a physical altercation.

After the two men were separated, Bradford retrieved a firearm from his house, returned to the yard and shot Hurst.

Hurst was transported to a local hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

Bradford was taken to the Brevard County Jail where he is being held on a No Bond status.
