BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – With the 2019 season coming to a close, Florida Tech will look to send senior class off with a win as the Panthers host Gulf South Conference foe Shorter in the season finale Saturday.

Kickoff is at 2 p.m. at Panther Stadium.

Tech heads into the contest with a 4-6 record and a 2-5 mark in the GSC following last week’s 17-14 double-overtime win over North Greenville in Tigerville.

Trey Schaneville provided the game-winner from 23-yards out. It stands as the Panthers’ first overtime appearance and win in program history.

Shorter had to wait 1,498 days since its last win. The Hawks snapped a 48-game losing streak with a 37-7 victory over Allen University on Saturday afternoon.

The victory marked the first win for Shorter since October 3, 2015 – a 42-23 triumph over Mississippi College.

Saturday’s game is the seventh all-time meeting between Florida Tech and Shorter. The Panthers are 6-0 through the first six matchups, including a 3-0 record when playing at Panther Stadium. Shorter is the only GSC team that the Crimson & Gray are undefeated against all-time. (Florida Tech image)

INSIDE THE SERIES

Saturday’s game is the seventh all-time meeting between Florida Tech and Shorter. The Panthers are 6-0 through the first six matchups, including a 3-0 record when playing at Panther Stadium. Shorter is the only GSC team that the Crimson & Gray are undefeated against all-time.

The first three contests between the Panthers and Hawks were highly competitive, with each decided by just four points (28-24 in 2013, 34-30 in 2014, and 28-14 in 2015). However, Tech has dominated the matchups since then and outscored Shorter by a combined 126-13 in those games.

The last time these teams met, the Panthers cruised to a 55-7 road victory in 2018. In 2017, the last time in Melbourne, Florida Tech won 31-6.

SENIOR DAY

Eighteen players will be honored on the field prior to Saturday’s kickoff as part of Florida Tech’s Senior Day ceremony. Overall, there are 10 offensive players, seven defensive players and one special teams player who will be playing their last game at Panther Stadium.

From the offense, there is Noah Bringas, Nicholas Falato, Robert Foy, Marshawn Gordon, Andrew Jones, Miles Kelly, Max Linder, Damien McGhee, Michael Ruess and Simon Williams.

Representing the defense are Tyrone Cromwell, TJ Harrell, Marquise Lewis, Mac Massengill, John McClure, Chad Simmons and Malachi Timberlake.

And from special teams, Curtiss Thies.

TICKET INFORMATION

Fans interested in purchasing tickets for Saturday’s football game between Florida Tech and Shorter can do so by going online ,CLICK HERE.

Tickets will be on sale at the ticket booths located on the east side of Florida Tech Panther Stadium beginning an hour and a half on game night and remain open until the end of the third quarter. To avoid lines at the ticket booths, we recommend purchasing tickets online in advance.

Reserved seating individual game tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for senior citizens and children, and general admission individual game tickets are $10 for adults and $5 senior citizens and children.

PARKING INFORMATION

If you do not already have a Parking Pass, they can be purchased on-site at the stadium. Parking at Palm Bay Magnet High School lots is $5 (cash only) per vehicle and parking areas are open an hour and a half prior to kickoff. There is no tailgating permitted in any of the PBMHS parking areas, however, handicap parking is available.

Parking is also located on the Florida Tech campus at no charge.

TAILGATING INFORMATION

Tailgating is only permitted on Florida Tech’s campus in designated areas and begins at 9 a.m. every home game day.  There is no charge for tailgating.

Alcohol and grilling are only permitted in the designated areas on Florida Tech’s campus. Open fire grilling is not permitted in the parking garage.

The Panther Prowl, the name of the team’s pregame walk from the Denius Student Center to the Varsity Training Center, will begin at about 11:20 a.m.

Food and beverage will be available for sale at the concession stand at Florida Tech Panther Stadium. Outside food and beverage is not allowed inside the stadium.

Tailgating is permitted in designated areas at Florida Tech beginning three hours prior to kickoff.

A complimentary shuttle service is provided from the Florida Tech campus to the stadium and back.

Shuttles run continuously beginning an hour and a half prior to the game until one hour after the conclusion of the game.
