Titusville Man, 46, Killed, Cocoa Woman Seriously Injured in Motorcycle vs. Pickup Truck Crash

Victim has not yet been identified, crash remains under investigation and charges are pending

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Wednesday morning on U.S. 1 southbound near Highland Ave., according to the Cocoa Police Department.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A 46-year-old Titusville man was killed and an 80-year-old woman was seriously injured in a motorcycle vs. pickup truck crash on Sunday evening at about 6 p.m. on U.S. Highway 1 and River Park Boulevard.

According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Kim Montes, Motlaney Cook, 80, of Cocoa was traveling westbound on River Park Drive as the yet-to-be-identified motorcyclist was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 1.

Lt. Montes said that Cook, who was driving a 1999 Dodge pickup, attempted to make a left turn to travel southbound on U.S. Highway 1 and turned into the direct path of the motorcyclist.

The front of the motorcycle struck the left side of the pickup truck, which then overturned.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from his 2009 Harley-Davidson.

Cook was taken to Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center in serious condition.

According to Lt. Montes, this crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
