BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Police have arrested Lloyd A. Burson after he allegedly kidnapped a local Titusville mother and her two children late Tuesday evening by holding them up at gunpoint and forcing them into his vehicle.
An Amber Alert was briefly issued before police safely found the mother and her children early Wednesday morning.
Police in Volusia County made the arrest on Wednesday.
Burson is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Battery Domestic Violence, Kidnapping, Violation of Parole and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
“The preliminary investigation has revealed that at on Tuesday (Nov. 12), at approximately 11:30 p.m., 35-year-old Lloyd A. Burson, abducted Melanie Martin and her two children at gunpoint in the area of the 1000 block of 3rd Ave.,” said Officer Amy Matthews of the Titusville Police Department.
