BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Port Canaveral Chief Executive Officer John Murray delivered the 2019 “State of the Port” address at Cruise Terminal 10 on Wednesday that highlighted the port’s impressive statewide $3.9 billion economic impact, 4.6 million multi-day passenger movements and initiatives to improve the health of the local ecosystems.

Cruise lines, guests and crew visits generated $1.3 billion in tourism expenditures in Central Florida and Murray detailed the exciting construction projects currently underway, including the Cruise Terminal 3 complex now under construction for use by Carnival Cruise Line and scheduled to open in mid-2020.

The new CT3 will host the mammoth 183,900 ton, 5,300-passenger Carnival Mardi Gras, which will be the cruise line’s first ship to run on liquefied natural gas (LNG), a form of fuel that produces almost zero emissions.
