BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Kishen Mitra, a senior at West Shore Jr./Sr. High is making a difference in local elementary schools through sharing his love for STEM education.

Mitra formed his own nonprofit, Central Florida STEM for Kids, and visits local under-served elementary schools with STEM outreach opportunities like building snap circuits, coding robotic rovers and more.

He guides students along their journey of discovery and shares their excitement when they successfully complete their task.

When asked what he loves most about working with students he replied, “I love to see the smile on their face when their project works. A lot of times, these students don’t get the opportunity to be hands-on with STEM, and it takes the experience to a whole new level of involvement and it’s so important.”
