BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The City of Palm Bay will relaunch Operation Safe Disposal this holiday season. Operation Safe Disposal encourages residents to avoid advertising to potential thieves by leaving boxes from holiday gifts at the curb following Hanukkah and Christmas.
Items like TVs, gaming systems, computers, and other electronics often come in clearly-labeled cardboard boxes that may let others know what kind of gifts your family received this year and what items they could potentially steal.
To help your family dispose of your gift boxes properly, The City of Palm Bay and Waste Management have worked together to provide containers for holiday box disposal from Friday, December 27, through Monday, January 6.
The containers are located at two convenient locations in Palm Bay:
- Palm Bay City Hall
- 120 Malabar Rd. Palm Bay, FL 32907 (located behind the building, between City Hall and the library)
- Main Street Police Substation
- 1575 Main St. Palm Bay, FL 32905
The disposal containers are intended for the disposal of holiday cardboard boxes only. The disposal of regular garbage, old items replaced by new gifts, Christmas trees and other non-cardboard items is prohibited.
