BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – A Brevard County Circuit Court Judge ordered two life sentences, plus another 25 years, for a man who was convicted of murder in the 2018 death of 22-year-old Dimitric Bailey.
Markice Harvey, 27, was the second suspect to receive multiple life sentences for the murder of Bailey.
In October, a judge sentenced 23-year-old Xavier Deon Turner to two life sentences without the possibility of parole. A third suspect, Kenneth Levatt Jr., 26, is scheduled to go to trial in early January.

The murder investigation began on July 29, 2018, when Cocoa Police officers responded to a report of a man inside a vehicle with what appeared to be a bullet wound to his neck. The man was later identified as Dimitric Bailey.
Police say the investigation revealed a video depicting Bailey inside the vehicle when three individuals, later identified as Turner, Harvey, and Levatt, entered and shot Bailey, taking drugs and money from him.

“Detectives interviewed multiple witnesses and determined Turner and the two other suspects, who were all friends, went to find Bailey with intentions of robbing and killing him,” said Cocoa Police in a released statement.
Investigators discovered that Harvey was the gunman who shot Bailey.
During the sentencing hearing, Bailey’s surviving family members asked the judge to impose the maximum penalty for the murder.
“This is a tragic story that has not only robbed Mr. Bailey of his life at a young age, it also destroyed the lives of those who loved him,” said Detective Debra Titkanich, who investigated the homicide.
“What’s worse is these kids were all friends. It is tragic for everyone involved.”
The victim’s family did not wish to have prosecutors pursue the death penalty in the case.
