BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – School Resource Officer Branda Marchica has been nominated by Kathy Hamilton-Brown, teacher on assignment at Endeavour Elementary, for her outstanding service to Endeavour’s students and staff and for being an Endeavour champion.

After being in the investigative division of the Cocoa Police Department for nearly 16 years, Officer Marchica decided to try a new position as a School Resource Officer and was assigned to Endeavour just this past year.

She was nervous on her first day of school but fell in love from day one with her new assignment and new Endeavour family.

“She is really enjoying every day in her new position and is able to serve her community in a different, but very positive way,” said Brown.

“She is making great relationships with the students, parents and staff that will last a long time.”

While Officer Marchica has only been in her new position for a little over three months, she has started a program to get bicycles for students who have to walk more than two miles to and from school each day.

This has helped improve tardiness and absences.

Her personality has shined throughout the school community where all feel comfortable in talking with her no matter the situation.
