UPDATE: Firefighters Battle Blaze on Second Floor of Apartments in Merritt Island

fire started around 3:17 p.m.

Brevard Fire Rescue has extinguished a second-floor apartment fire Monday afternoon at the Merritt Island Co-Op Apartments, located on 215 Buccaneer Ave.

BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Brevard Fire Rescue has extinguished a second-floor apartment fire Monday afternoon at the Merritt Island Co-Op Apartments, located on 215 Buccaneer Ave.

No injuries happened as a result of the fire.

Emergency personnel responded to the blaze at 3:17 p.m.

A spokesperson with Brevard County Fire Rescue says the fire was a result of a stove that caught on fire in the apartment.
