Ginny Gleason Recognized For Dedicated Effort as Community Engagement Resource Teacher

Ginny Gleason is the embodiment of Heart of Brevard. As the district’s Parent, Family and Community Engagement Resource Teacher, Ginny’s primary focus is to build strong partnerships with families and empower parents to work collaboratively with schools to support student success. (BPS image)

BREVARD COUNTY,  FLORIDA – Ginny Gleason is the embodiment of Heart of Brevard. As the district’s Parent, Family and Community Engagement Resource Teacher, her primary focus is to build strong partnerships with families and empower parents to work collaboratively with schools to support student success.

Gleason coordinates the monthly Parent Leadership meetings and is currently a member of the district crisis and recovery team.

She was a guidance counselor at Andersen Elementary for seven years prior to transferring to the district.

Gleason was also a lab school parent and jumped at the opportunity to become a parent educator when her children began kindergarten.

Providing support to children and their families has always been a passion and the impact of her contributions is felt district-wide.

Gleason recently won the Superstar Employee Award at 2-1-1 Brevard’s 2019 Stars of the Space Coast Awards ceremony. She was nominated by former Students in Transition coordinator, Dr. Sally Shinn
