BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Forty-one North Brevard children attended the Annual Shop with a Cop event on Saturday, December 14.
In a partnership between Titusville Police and the Titusville Police Youth Foundation, kids were given $100 to shop at Wal-Mart and Target in Titusville.
Titusville Police Officers, department volunteers and Titusville City Manager, Scott Larese, donated their time for the event and led children on a Holiday Shopping Spree.
Children, who were selected by local school administrators and Titusville Police School Resources Officers, were paired up with an officer or volunteer at the Police Hall of Fame at 7:30 a.m.
Shoppers were treated to a breakfast of donuts and McDonald’s breakfast sandwiches and then driven to Wal-Mart and Target in charter busses donated by Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
“The support we received from the business community this year was exceptional,” said Deputy Chief Todd Hutchinson.
Funds for the Holiday Shopping Spree were provided by the Titusville Police Youth Foundation, Wal-Mart, Target, Tiffany Scarboro with First International Title, Noble & Company Real Estate Professionals, and monies donated by members of the Titusville community and additional businesses.
