SPORTS PREVIEW: Florida Tech Softball Head Coach Val Silvestrini Releases 2020 Schedule

The team will take the field for 52 games, 27 at home, 15 away and 10 at neutral sites

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech Softball head coach Val Silvestrini released the team’s 2020 schedule.
The women will take the field for 52 games, of which 27 are home, 15 are away and 10 are at neutral sites.
The Panthers open its season with a trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama, for the Gulf Shores Invitational. The women will take on five opponents from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2.
The following weekend, the Crimson & Gray welcomes 10 teams to the Space Coast for the Florida Tech Invitational hosted by the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Viera, Florida.
Florida Tech opens its Sunshine State Conference title defense with a weekend series against Florida Southern. This Valentine’s weekend series will also be the team’s first true home games.
The women then head to St. Petersburg, Florida, for their first true road test of the year as they take on Eckerd, Feb. 21-22.
After Eckerd, the Panthers embark on a 13 game home stand that spans from Feb. 25 to March 11. The streak snaps when the women head to Saint Leo for a weekend series.
However, the women will get to unpack for a while as following the Saint Leo’s series they play their next eight games in Melbourne.
The final stretch of the year sees a role reversal as Tech will be on the road for nine of its final 12 games.
The teams only home appearances will be the Senior Day Series against the Rollins College Tars that takes place April 17-18.
