Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings beginning February 5 at 6 p.m. and runs through April 22

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – We have all at one time or another watched TV shows like Cops, Live PD, Law and Order, Dragnet and CHIPS.

But, have you ever wondered what it’s actually like to follow the evidence, track the bad guy and make the arrest?

Beginning February 5, the West Melbourne Police Department will be hosting a Citizen’s Police Academy.

The Citizen’s Police Academy is designed to provide citizens with a greater understanding of the West Melbourne Police Department and its operations through class lectures and hands-on experiences.

Topics include criminal investigations, working the crime scene, high risk situations and much more.

The Academy is free and open to all those who live and work in the City of West Melbourne. Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings beginning February 5 at 6 p.m. and runs through April 22.
