BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – A Brevard County Grand Jury indicted Da’rius Christian, 22, for First Degree Premeditated Murder in connection to the death of his half-sister J’Meisha Gant, 19, at 221 Ligustrum Lane in Merritt Island in November 2019.

On November 3, 2019, just after 4 p.m., Brevard County Deputies responded to the Ligustrum Lane apartment where Gant’s body had been discovered by her mother.

The Medical Examiner determined the cause of death as homicide by strangulation.

The subsequent investigation established that Gant had been at home alone with Christian on the evening and early morning hours of November 2-3, 2019.

During that time, a physical altercation occurred where Christian strangled the victim causing her death.

Arraignment was waived after Christian ‘s attorney filed a Notice of Appearance and Not Guilty plea. The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Kelly Jo McKibben.
