BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – I had the pleasure, along with other members of Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, to participate Saturday in the Florida Key Lime Pie Festival by displaying some of the incredible resources we use to protect our community.
The annual event that took place at the Veteran’s Memorial Center in Merritt Island drew thousands of visitors to the Space Coast who each got a chance to taste some delicious Key Lime Pie while also seeing our Bomb Unit, our Patrol Deputies, our Corrections Deputies and even a K-9 demonstration with Deputy Caleb Pinkham and his dog “Baxter.”
In addition, the crowd enjoyed spending time with Bloodhounds “Jake” and “Justice” and of course “Junny,” the Sheriff’s Dog and our agency’s mascot.
The annual event serves as a fundraiser for the Veteran’s Memorial Center that does so much to honor our heroes and our veterans with the honor and dignity they so truly deserve.
Please join me in thanking Louie Moorehead and his staff at the Florida Key Lime Pie Company for hosting the annual event and also everyone who attended today’s event to support our Veterans.
