Daytona State Travels South to Eastern Florida State for Conference Matchup Saturday

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team heads into Saturday’s Mid-Florida Conference matchup with Daytona State College in need of a win.

The Titans have gotten off to a slow start in conference play for the season straight season. Last season they rebounded from a 1-2 start to win their second straight Mid-Florida Conference title and seventh straight conference championship under head coach Jeremy Shulman.

The Titans enter Saturday 11-8 overall and 0-2 in the conference after falling short on the road to the College of Central Florida, 81-79. Eastern Florida State College is holding teams to 64.3 points per game which is second in Region 8 and 13th in the nation. Offensively, sophomore Osayi Osifo leads the charge with 11.2 points and seven rebounds per game.

Daytona State College comes into the game 11-7 and 0-1 in the conference after losing to Santa Fe at home Wednesday night. The Falcons are led by Damerius Wash who is averaging 15.9 points and six rebounds per game. The Falcons have five players averaging 10 points or more as they are scoring 84 points per game.

The Titans have won five of the last six in the series including two of the three last year. Saturday’s game will tip off at 4 p.m. at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.
