Eastern Florida Opens Suncoast Conference Season vs. St. Petersburg College Saturday

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team opens the Suncoast Conference season on a roll.

The Titans have used some strong shooting and a pressure defense to head into the conference season with a 14-4 record. Eastern Florida State College is second in Region 8 in points per game, averaging 82.2 points and is third in 3-point shooting percentage, hitting 35.2 percent of their 3-pointers.

Sophomore Skye Williams leads the potent attack which features four players averaging at least 11 points per game. Williams, who was named to the all-state team last season, is averaging 15 points per game.

The opener won’t be easy as St. Petersburg College comes into the 2 p.m. contest 16-4 on the season and 0-1 in the conference.

The St. Petersburg Titans are led by Deshari Graham who is averaging 14.7 points, five rebounds and five assists per game.

The battle of the Titans has been a close series in the past with a 4-4 record over the past eight meetings. The first meeting this season will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus and admission is free.
